Public funding supports reconstruction of Fibroglobal's network affected by the fires of June and October 2017
The serious fires that occurred in several municipalities in the Central Zone, in June and October 2017, had a significant impact on Fibroglobal's High-Speed Network in these municipalities, namely, with the destruction of fiber optic routes, exceeding a total of 155.80 km in June and 376.12 km in October.
After the fires, Fibroglobal began the reconstruction work of the affected routes, prioritizing their replacement as quickly as possible, in order to ensure the restoration of the services supported by it and the minimization of the impact on the affected populations and companies.
The Fibroglobal network was affected in the municipalities of Pedrogão Grande, Figueiró dos Vinhos, Castanheira de Pera, Pampilhosa da Serra, Góis, Sertã, Alvaiázere, Carregal do Sal, Castro Daire, Lousã, Mortágua, Oleiros, Oliveira de Frades, Pampilhosa da Serra, Penacova, Sabugal, Santa Comba Dão, São Pedro do Sul, Sertã, Tábua, Trancoso, Vila Nova de Poiares and Vouzela.
Os custos de reconstrução atingiram um valor de 1.330.358,91 euros, tendo a Fibroglobal recorrido aos programas de apoio à reconstrução disponibilizados pelo Governo, com financiamento comunitário, no âmbito do Portugal 2020, conforme a seguir detalhado:
